Daytona Beach International Airport is the often called the gateway to Central Florida as it links the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean with some of the attractions in Orlando including the Kennedy Space Center and historic St Augustine.
The airport located 5km southwest of the central business area of Daytona Beach and is adjacant to the International Speedway. The airport has 3 runways, a six-gate domestic terminal and an international terminal. There are three information / help desks in the domestic terminal as there are not many flights from the International Terminal.
When you arrive you will find eight major car rental companies located at the airport terminal arrivals area across the three baggage reclaim belts. If you are planning on exploring the state of Florida it is recommended that you pre book a rent a car as you should get a better deal, particularly if you book on line.
If you do not want to hire a car at the airport then you will find several taxi firms operating out of Daytona Beach with the rank located directly outside arrivals. Or you may prefer to use the bus, in which case Votran is Valusia County's public transport company, and they operate a service from the airport to Transfer Plaza in the center of Daytona Beach.
There is no railway station at the airport or in Daytona Beach itself with the nearest terminus about 20km southwest of Daytona Beach at Deland.
Parking at Daytona Beach Airport is very reasonable, with courtesy shuttle services operating from the short and long term car parks to the terminal main entrance. There is also a kerb / pavement drop off area at the front of both terminal buildings.
If you are departing from Daytona Beach Airport: the Main Terminal which handles domestic flights and the International Terminal. They are within walking distance of each other or you can catch a shuttle bus.
There are three restaurants at the airport: one in the terminal building and the other two (Cancun Lagoon Bar and Grill and Olive Garden) are located adjacent to the airport on the same road (West International Speedway Boulevard).
Paradies Shops have two outlets at the airport; one before and one after security in the departures lounge in the main terminal. They offer departing passengers a selection of news, gifts, books and some journey necessities.
