Symptoms of the Eye Migraine

If you are having the symptoms of the eye migraine, then you can not need medications for them. This migraine is a migraine type which is called by many terms such as (ophthalmic, optical, visual, silent, ocular, migraine aura without headache, typical aura without headache). But the migraine term does not mean that the patient will experience a head pain.

Migraine sufferers pass through the symptoms without understanding they were migraine symptoms. The main symptoms of the eye migraine are :

  • Blurred vision
  • Temporary blindness
  • Temporary one eye blindness (spots out of your eye, in the center or the peripheral side)
  • Zigzag lines
  • Flickering lights (interferees with the eye vision)

The symptoms can be accompanied by a migraine headache, but it is a rare condition. There are many physical symptoms of the eye migraine such as: nausea, vomiting, fatigue, light and sounds sensitivity. Why do these visual symptoms happen? This migraine attack two parts in the head: the brain visual function and the eye stem because of the spasm of the blood vessels behind the eye.

Individuals that are more susceptible to have the symptoms of the eye migraine are the following:

  • Female in general (doctors have shown that more ladies suffer from migraine than men).
  • A patient who has a medical history of one of the following: epilepsy, sickle disease (it is a blood genetic disease that gives abnormal structure of the blood cells which can not pass through the body vessels), migraine and depression.
  • Possibly, men and women under the 40 ages

There are many common triggers of this migraine such as caffeine, cheeses, mono sodium glutamate foods (MSG foods), chocolates, stress and salty foods.
