Things needed to make detergent:
- A cup of Borax
- A cup of Washing Soda
- A bar of any available Soap
- A gallon of Water
- And, a large pot to cook your detergent
So, lets get started right away!
Step 1 – Chop and Grind
First, chop up the soap with a cheese grater, knife or even a food processor; the bottom line is that it should be ground well.
Step 2 – Boil
Bring the water to boil and add the grounded soap and stir well till the soap gets dissolved.
Step 3 – Other ingredients
Lower the flame. Add borax and stir well. Then add washing soda. Stir till they dissolve and remove from flame.
Step 4 – Setting
Transfer the contents into a container and allow it to set. Leave it for a day before using for the first time.
