Club Penguin is a children's site where they are given Penguin "avatars" and roam about the snow covered world living like one playing games and by doing so earning money.

If there is an event the players can even get free items. The items differ from event to event. For example: during April Fools Day Party, all were given propeller hats and glasses. During summer the players were given inflatable ducks that could help you float in water and during a cowboy party, the players were all given bandanas.

Players can also buy pins that appear on the top left corner of a player's card and also flags which are like pins only available exclusively to the members and only one can be shown at a given time. Every month, new backgrounds are available and the players can all buy them. Whenever someone clicks on a player's penguin, the background is flashed on the screen.
