Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is one of the most popular games in recent history. It was released worldwide on November 10, 2009, and went on to sell over 15 million copies. One of the best aspects of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the many online Deathmatch gameplay modes. Also there is a Ground War mode that allows you to play against a maximum of 18 players at once, rotating between Team Deathmatch and Domination game modes.
I will be discussing winning strategies for Team Deathmatch online and express game modes. If you are new to playing the game you will be limited to some of the preset classes. You will have to level up by killing other players and being part of a winning team in these game modes.
I recommend playing as the Grenadier class to begin with and make sure you use the "Stopping Power" Perk. This perk combined with the FAMAS rifle will make your shots extremely deadly if you can hit an opposing player. Also if things are not going your way, you will have the option to rely on a grenade launcher to help you obtain kills and experience at a faster rate. Once you have unlocked the custom classes you can tweak your class to the best style that suits you.
Learning the maps is probably the most crucial aspect to learning how to succeed at Team Deathmatch. The faster you become aware of where to go and where not to linger too long you will end up with more kills and less deaths. With that in mind, be prepared to die, and die a lot while you are a lower level newbie. As you gain in levels you will unlock the ability to create custom player classes, more powerful killstreak options and more advanced weaponry.
Some very important things to keep in mind are to stick with your team as they move through the map, this will both help you learn the map and less the chances the enemy team will sneak up behind you. Strength in numbers is a very important strategy when playing Team Deathmatch. You should avoid camping in an isolated part of the map until you unlock claymores. Also when the enemy team calls in Harriers, Apache, Chopper Gunners you should consider switching to the Overwatch class. You need to help take down the powerful aerial support that can quickly determine the outcome of a match. You will also gain valuable experience points when destroying enemy aerial support.
